Hi, we’re Ellis and Porter — mother & daughter, and the heart behind this boutique.

Twenty-five years ago, Ellis opened a tiny shop on a quiet Boston street.
Just a few wooden racks, a sewing machine that hummed late into the night, and one dream:

To create clothing that made women feel confident, warm, and truly themselves.

Back then, little Porter spent her afternoons in the shop — doing homework on the counter, sorting buttons by color, trying on pieces far too big for her, and watching her mom lift women up with kindness and style.

Those moments shaped everything.

From one generation to the next

As the boutique grew, so did Porter’s love for it.
When she turned 30, she made a decision that filled Ellis with both pride and emotion:

She would carry the legacy forward.

Today, we run this boutique side-by-side.
Two generations, one shared passion — creating timeless, elegant clothing that makes women of every age feel seen, supported, and beautifully themselves.

And now, something beautiful has come full circle —
because these days, a new little set of footsteps can often be heard between the racks.
Our third generation, curious and giggling, already crawling her way into the heart of Ellis & Porter.
